Hyaluronic Acids
Restylane and Juvederm (hyaluronic acids) are natural sugars that are injected into the skin’s dermal layer to restore natural facial contours and minimize lines and wrinkling. When injected in tiny amounts in areas prone to wrinkling such as the nasolabial folds and the glabella hyaluronic acids  expand within the skin by absorbing and binding with water molecules from surrounding tissue.  The process smooths and plumps the overlying skin.  When placed deeply Hyaluronic acids restore natural youthful contours, such as brows, cheeks, and jawline. They are quickly administered during an office visit and the results are immediately appreciated.

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide (complex sugar molecule) that is found in a vast array of species and occurs naturally in the human body, playing important roles in proper joint elasticity, eye shape, and skin volume. The substance was first employed in diverse medical applications such as orthopedic joint repair and eye surgery.

To harvest hyaluronic acid for medical use, a universally-proven biotechnology is employed. A carefully controlled fermentation process generates raw hyaluronic acid, which is extracted and refined to absolute purity. The molecular structure is then slightly modified to extend its chemical stability from a matter of days to up to a year. It is then incorporated into a gel.

Radiesse
Radiesse is a filler used to restore facial volume in the deep tissue planes.  It is made up of calcium based microspheres suspended in a water based gel carrier.  This product stimulates the body's own natural collagen production which replenishes lost facial volume in areas such as the jawline, chin and cheeks.  The correction is instantaneous and the results last for a year or more.  Radiesse is mixed with an anesthetic which offers patients significantly reduced discomfort during treatement.

Post treatment a small amount of swelling, and possibly bruising, occurs that varies with the individual. When of concern, mention your work and/or social agenda to Dr. Kornstein prior to your treatment.
